Finland At Colisium Music Week 2016

This year Colisium has a big focus on Finland.

As a part of international day on April 23 we have a special discussion panel “Focus on Finland” starting at 11 am. This year we have:

• Juha Perälä, musician and freelancer, founder of Peralan Betoni;
• Iiro Ylönen, booking agent of the legendary Nosturi Club.

Among other delegates we expect some of the very known promoters and agents from Finnish companies such as Piikkikasvi Agency Oy, Blue Buddha Management Ltd, Sam Agency Oy, LiveNation Finland and also representatives of the new music conference Soundgeist in Helsinki.

Guitarists from Finland

On April 23rd a selection of great Finnish guitar players will perform in Elena Obraztsova Cultural Center in two sets: classical guitar and jazz & flamenco.

Participants of classical part:

•  Petri Kumela, classical guitar
• Duo Janne Malinen & Aleksi Rajala, classical guitar
• Duo Petri Kumela & Joonas Widenius, classical & flamenco guitar

Talanted participants of the second part:

• Duo Atmos, jazz guitar, electric bass
• Joonas Widenius, flamenco guitar

Audience may also see and try some handmade guitars by Finnish luthiers.

The project is coordinated by Tampere Guitar Festival in co-operation with Elena Obraztsova Cultural Center and professionals from St Petersburg. The Ministry of Education and Culture in Finland supports the project.

We are glad to invite representatives of all medias (music magazines, newspapers, radio, TV, bloggers etc.) to the showcases on April 23rd. Registered till April, 20 here. On request you may have a private interview of the artists of your choice. Applications latest 1 week before the performance.
